AG Kimjoosung

AG 김주성체

AG Kim Joo-sung is a typeface developed based on the non-square lettering of designer Kim Joo-sung. Kim designed the Hangeul jamo by intuitively utilizing the most fundamental geometric elements: dots and lines. In this typeface, the character 'ㅇ' (Ieung) takes the form of a dot, while other consonants possess a modular nature, varying in size according to their stroke count. As jamo of diverse widths and heights combine, the overall width and height of the syllable blocks adapt accordingly. To ensure stable typographic flow while preserving this dynamic rhythm, specific non-square combination rules tailored to these unique characteristics were established. The typeface is completed with custom-designed Latin alphabets and symbols that harmonize with the distinct Hangeul forms. It supports 11,172 Hangeul characters, 305 Latin and Extended Latin characters, and 705 punctuation marks and symbols.
