Ortank Package M

At its essence, Ortank explores the confines of geometric shapes. Its goal is to ally the radically simple with some classical influence, coming from the lineale grotesque style. The typeface offers a set of letters which are readable in large paragraph format and other kinds of dense content. Its unique shapes (such as the ‘n’ and ‘u’) maintain legibility on a small scale without causing discomfort. The moment of magic occurs when using the display weight, where we have embraced a digitally radical approach: We have taken Ortank’s extreme sharpness and applied it in a unique way for each of member of the type family. Ortank also makes a strong statement with italics, displaying a dynamic and strongly slanted approach. Our vision harks back to ‘what italics used to be’—in other words, we felt that Ortank italic could embrace a different design, with its own quality. Instead of simply slanting the upright version, we decided to take a more independent approach—a tactic which we have employed successfully with several of our font families.

We hope that our website gives you a glimpse of a future where type design fully embraces digital. Of course, this is just the beginning, and we are just two explorers finding our way in a new world of type, deeply passionate about creating a new type family. We believe that our website demonstrates the passion we have for our work, through typefaces, work in progress, and experimentation. Going forward, we will continue our prototyping processes, explore more languages and graphic territories, and transpose our new family of fonts into interfaces, layouts and visual universes. 오흐탕크 Package M Regular Text

We conceive typefaces with two very different approaches. Our first approach is achieved by digging into history. We then mix these sources and our own sketches into new shapes. We make those live between time and cultural expressions. The second one consists of creating a product with clear end usages in mind. Whether we create fonts for motion, interactive design, or print, we explore the full potential in each of these design worlds. Our goal is to bring a broad aspect to what typography is in the 21st century. Indeed, as the digital world becomes more mobile, branding passes more and more through type design. This includes specifically the all aspect of custom typefaces and fonts. In addition to the experience of designing typefaces and to partner with clients to create brands, we have a multicultural approach focused on Hangeul, the Korean script, and the Latin one, which alphabet is used for languages such as English, French, Spanish or Polish to name a few. We hope that our website gives you a glimpse of a future where type design fully embraces digital.
