믹소그라피아(Mixography)는 입체감을 강조한 현대 판화 기법으로, 전통적인 평면 판화 기법과는 달리, 물리적인 질감과 깊이를 표현할 수 있습니다. 이 기법은 실크스크린, 리소그래피와 같은 평면 인쇄 기술을 사용하면서도, 섬세한 질감을 형성하여 종이에 입체적인 느낌을 주는 특징이 있습니다. 믹소그라피아는 잉크의 두께와 압력의 차이를 이용해 표면의 높낮이나 질감을 변화시키며, 시각적으로뿐만 아니라 촉각적으로도 독특한 경험을 제공합니다. 이를 통해 작품은 더욱 입체적이고 생동감 있는 인상을 남깁니다.

Volume 1 «Tangibility and Intangibility» Nutype's first project is an attempt to transform the intangible into a tangible form—type. Drawing inspiration from music, dance, and art, we have created a total of three type families comprising six fonts. NU Écriture is inspired by Park Seo-bo’s work 「Myobop」, which utilizes the mixed media technique of mixography. Mixography is one of the contemporary printmaking techniques that gives a sense of three-dimensionality, something that cannot be achieved in flat print techniques like silkscreen or lithography. It’s often said that ‘texture’ is felt in the lines of text, and I thought this resembled the three-dimensional quality of copperplate engraving. Like the mixography, which combines both flatness and three-dimensionality, NU Écriture was created with various variations to bring out opposing concepts. In the Display style, upright italic and slanted elements were incorporated to create more interesting textures.

동판화는 구리판에 그림이나 글씨를 새겨 잉크를 묻힌 후 종이에 찍어내는 판화 기법입니다. 이 기법은 금속판의 표면을 부식시켜 음각을 만들고, 그곳에 잉크를 채운 뒤 압력을 가해 이미지를 출력합니다. 동판화의 특징은 세밀한 선과 뚜렷한 대비를 통해 정밀한 디테일을 표현할 수 있다는 점입니다. 또한, 금속판의 특성상 다른 판화 기법보다 더 깊은 선을 만들 수 있어, 작품에 입체적인 느낌과 섬세한 텍스처가 강조됩니다. 동판화는 르네상스 시대부터 유럽에서 널리 사용되었으며, 섬세하고 정교한 작품을 만들어낼 수 있어 예술적 가치가 높습니다.
