We hope that our website gives you a glimpse of a future where type design fully embraces digital. Of course, this is just the beginning, and we are just two explorers finding our way in a new world of type, deeply passionate about creating a new type family. We believe that our website demonstrates the passion we have for our work, through typefaces, work in progress, and experimentation. Going forward, we will continue our prototyping processes, explore more languages and graphic territories, and transpose our new family of fonts into interfaces, layouts and visual universes. 르마닉 Package S
Lemanic Package S
The Lemanic family started in 2013, with the idea of merging the ideas of Pierre-Simon Fournier with the classic Romain du Roi typeface. Over time, the project grew into a dual family—divided between a robust, almost slab, ‘text’ version, and a sharper, more elegant display version whose appearance is more appropriate for titles. Lemanic embraces a transitional style, by merging different influences. It has a subtly inclined axis which gives a more calligraphic aspect, while its overall proportion is slightly condensed, reflecting its original purpose: magazine and newspaper print. The family’s italics are disconnected from (and therefore in contrast to) their upright counterpart, maintaining a unique and independent look—in italic, Lemanic is playful and has a dynamic pattern. The whole family currently has two further variables: weight and optical size (in both text and display versions). The overall project is seen as a toolbox to create dynamic, elegant and modern page layouts.
Our goal is to bring a broad aspect to what typography is in the 21st century. Indeed, as the digital world becomes more mobile, branding passes more and more through type design. This includes specifically the all aspect of custom typefaces and fonts. In addition to the experience of designing typefaces and to partner with clients to create brands, we have a multicultural approach focused on Hangeul, the Korean script, and the Latin one, which alphabet is used for languages such as English, French, Spanish or Polish to name a few.
